Opex for James Bay and Moblan are anticipated to be pretty low, I'm not sure why Quebec is considered an expensive jurisdiction.
AKE doesn't state an AISC but estimate C1 costs at 407 usd /t, whereas SYA estimate Moblan's AISC at 561 usd /t (pity about the high capex though.)
So if this acquisition goes through, WR1 should be a low capex, low opex operation, by global standards, yet in a safe jurisdiction thus appealing to strategic partners.
It's clearly rattling some cages as we have an influx of low-info trolls spreading fear. I don't say these are Chinese paid trolls, but there is clearly geostrategic advantage to China if Western critical mineral supply chains are stalled or fail to establish.
