Markets with low transparency and a relatively small number of players... I can't say I'm surprised! You give smart people lots of money to play with and a market regulator staffed by lifetime bureaucrats who are far more interested in long lunches and a generous pension than stirring up trouble, it's a recipe for misbehavior!
It does make me chuckle when retail investors rage (especially on HC) about manipulation and the evils of shorting and algo trading. If you're day trading from your home office then yeah, you are at a disadvantage (which is why I don't do it). But for most of us working to a longer timescale, it's just the cost of doing business, like paying GST... annoying, but inevitable. And personally, I love a heavily shorted stock... I see it as others working hard to deliver me a bargain!
Anyhow. I'm wandering off-topic... looking forward to XAM trading again, I see $$$ ahead!
