Depending on where you live - tax on options is treated differently

As I understand it, tax in the US is paid on options when you convert them eg. you have an option with 25 cent exercise price, you exercise when the SP is 50 cents, you have to pay the tax on the 25 cent instant "profit."

In Australia you pay the tax when you sell the security, it's as if you are buying the shares at the strike price, not being gifted them at half price.

So, if you think this is about as low as the SP will go, maybe you'll exercise now to minimise your tax bill.

Either way, it's great that putting more cash in the business and exercising.
