Don't be fooled by a patent grant. Actually not that hard to achieve.

I think this forum can benefit from contrarian voices if they make sense. But I think a patent granted in the US is a significant achievement. I think in fairness it actually shifts the burden of proof over to those saying the company hasn't got something of value to make that case wheras before the burden of proof was on the other side - because the patent is specific - its there inviting challenge.

The text of the patent is linked in the other thread and there is an excerpt of the particular method claimed. Have you got anything to say that suggests that the grant of that particular patent in the US is somehow not significant? Because I'm inclined to believe that the USPTO did not just give away a patent to an Australian based applicant without doing some considering (there are 11 claims in the patent as published - fewer than what were proposed originally and what the Russians let through) and I see nothing to suggest that they made an error.
