This is interesting. It seems that RCE327 can survive through the gastro-intestinal system to reach the urinary tract.

I recall (from somewhere - can't remember) in discussion about treating heliobacter pylori the question as to whether RCE327 would also kill the good bacteria in the gut biome. The answer was "no" on the basis that the RCE327 would degrade before reaching the lower parts of the digestive tract (e.g. the intestines where water and some dissolved waste are siphoned off into the urinary tract). So it seems that this is not the case - RCE327 can survive through to the intestines otherwise it would not end up in urine. So presumably RCE could take out a fair amount of the naturally occuring gut bacteria as well, which would not be good.

The phase 1 trials got to some pretty massive doses and there don't seem to have been any adverse reactions reported, but certainly something to ponder. Any biological experts here? (I'm certainly not one!).
