Clearly shows CATL/CATH's fervour to ensure they retain a major stake in this project, that will be delivering huge amounts of resource over the coming decades. I imagine they wouldn't want to have risked losing access (e.g. to American interlopers) should the CPs not have been met and AVZ potentially looking towards other suitors rather than another extension of terms.

Sadly I get the feeling CATH might be approaching DRC for their share of the holdings. If I recall correctly Nigel was in negotiations with DRC to purchase the surplus they own beyond what legislation req. What if CATH used this ownership to secure more ownership from DRC. It is a transaction between shareholders now, I doubt that is illegal. Or perhaps was always legal..
