I lived in China and speak fluent Chinese and can tell you how this is most likely to play out.
China did not want the WTO ruling to be public, because it knows it will lose.
It already has the preliminary report.
Australia does not want to embarrass China and wants to give them face to maintain the relationship.
China will hold out for a while and then pretend it is being magnanimous by allowing wine the in.
Pretty much the same as what happened with barley.
The gains won't be as big as people imagine because if you go to any supermarket in China you can still buy cheap wines like Rawson's Retreat. What TWE did to partially get around the tariffs is put South African wine in their bulk wine to send to China and send Australian wine to places where it was treated fairly. If you buy a bottle of Rawson's Retreat in China, it says "Made in South Africa" on the back.
