I was in north-west Queensland in the 1950s, when the sainted Pat Mackee owned the Silver dollar mine in the Lawn Hills mineral field - not far from the Century Zinc Mine. He went broke and didn't pay his workers even before he was broke, but that was before he got the union religion! A couple of mines there could stope out ore running 25% lead and they all went broke. I was younger then and completely bullet proof.
