El Nino often means drier weather in Australia and elsewhere in the western Pacific such as Indonesia but it is usually the opposite on the eastern side. El Nino usually leads to above average rainfall in western Canada, California and places like Peru, Chile etc. In Quebec and eastern North America the influence is typically less pronounced but it is not a harbinger of drought usually. This is the good news. The bad is that El Nino usually means higher temperatures globally including Quebec.
