Because a kilometer plus hole would cost a small fortune and they already carry debt. It's actually nonsensical that they even applied for the grant because the most likely outcome now is it will never be done and they will never get another grant (and it was wasted staff time preparing the grant application).
Camel Creek, not surprising, as they have never advised that they had completed heritage surveys. The "AAPA/stakeholder engagement requirements" should have been known about...I know about them and so should every other explorer working in the territory. As I have said previously (and been abused for the effort), pity there is no ' appropriately experienced personnel' on the non-existent executive.
