I would like to share some interesting facts about Soalala Mine in Madagascar, Wuhan iron & steel CO(WISCO) paid over 100Million dollars for the tenement In 2010-11 and committed USD $600Million dollars to Malagasy state, $228Million USD to Government, plus Construction of internationals port, Railways,Airport projects and other infrastructure, when Iron Ore price were under $50.00 ($USD/t) in 2011, so they basically committed to spent over Billion dollar without actual start of the operation, But got suspended For short term in 2011 because they were too close to the Baly Bay National Park and close to the agricultural land full of farmers So, of course local people never liked them because they destroyed their Agricultural land,but WISCO plans to displace the communities living in this area and Make Biodiversity Vulnerable(Risk of disappearance of endangered species like (Angonoka Turtles) and other species to this site) never really cared about environment but after all that Now they are up and running,

On the other hand Akora successfully Obtain their current Environmental authorisation which remain valid as they mentioned in their last Ann and Bekisopa is remote area unlike Soalala Mine closest village is 17-20KMS from the site and good to see them doing Community engagement activities therefore Local people are very supportive as Paul(CEO) stated in the last interview as well and Akora got highly experience Local people working for them who got strong local experience and affinity with community and Environmental interest.
