in India and South Africa and the release of news that BHP Billiton Limited’s (BHPB) Mr Ian Gorman has joined Molopo as a non-executive director of one of the group’s key subsidiaries (Lowell Petroleum NL), and he will join the board of the holding company, Molopo Australia Limited, later next month. Currently global technical leader in BHP Billiton’s Coal Bed Methane (CBM) group, Mr Gorman has been employed by BHP Petroleum for 18 years, where he worked on a number of major international petroleum projects and on CBM operations in Australia, China and North America. Prior to heading BHPB’s Global CBM technical team, Mr. Gorman has held numerous senior positions within BHPB including manager of petroleum engineering in Melbourne and London as well as producing fields manager for the Australia/Asia region. Mr Gorman has extensive experience across different CBM basins, projects and extraction techniques. Before joining BHPB, he worked for Shell International Petroleum for seven years in various petroleum and reservoir engineering roles; this truly makes Molopo a global player in the CBM field!
