You can't blame them for doing a bit of drilling in this area to try to understand whether they have anything or not, but not at the expense of Authier. If they did nothing about the prospective gold then people would complain too.
Can't please all the people all the time. Personally I'm pleased that they are examining the gold. A little gold earn in with another developer would work perfectly.
