All good points CBS, and I appreciate your posts.
For me, I think there has been a step change since they began to focus on Sly Fox. Indications are that the deposit is wider then they first thought, and the similar dip and plunge to Never Never has maybe got them thinking. Of course we are not privy to what they are seeing and it would be unwise for them to jump to conclusions. It is different for us, we have the freedom to speculate.
I think Simon is going to have a tough job managing his excitement and expectations, until we know for certain what is actually down there. He and the Geo's see the samples on the core tables, and they would have a much better idea than we would of what the assays are likely to tell them weeks, or even months before they get the results. It is a delicate balance, you want to keep investors informed but not stoke their imaginations too much. Personally, I think he has done well with this so far.
I've lived through this before with DEG and it was clear that it took time and many, many drill holes and samples before they really hit their straps. Once they understood the nature of the geology, and the deposit, their confidence increased noticeably. I was nervous when Simon said they were drilling the recent deep hole, as chances were high that they would miss the ore body. But their accuracy was impressive. I can't help but think that Simon's exuberance is linked to their growing confidence that they are understanding the local geology and the ore body much better.
It is still a mystery to me that these deeper deposits were missed by past management, but it is not unusual. I've been in other goldies that have failed to really understand what they are dealing with and suffered as a result. I think part of the problem is that we all tend to think in terms of a narrative or story, but maybe we assume the ending too early and get locked in to a certain perspective? This perspective drives our activity, sometimes in the wrong direction. BGL is an excellent example of a company that was prepared to take the time to really understand the assets that they have, and they are doing well as a result.
All I am saying is that I am not willing to call any outcome too early, I am expecting the deposits to join up. But even if they don't, we still have several amazing deposit within stones through of a relatively new mill, so I won't be too disappointed. However, I believe it is too early to put a bow on this particular story, and while we wait I am prepared to consider what seems unlikely or even impossible.
Kind regards.
