The high cash costs relate directly to the narrow vein style gold they are mining. Most intersections are less than a meter and they have to take a minimum of 1.5m which is highly delutive. As a result stopes produce small tonnage per vertical meter which greatly increases developement costs as the levels have to be closer together.
