Yes Try has mined underground in Brazil at at Casposo, without incident.
Underground mining ussaly has a fair be of Cap-ex to get started ie Portal, decline, ventilation shafts ect. However Ken has said they can do it with a relatively low cap-ex
The great thing with underground mining is that strip ratio is low, open pits require huge amounts of waste to be moved.
Noted that Ken mentioned that the 30k oz au in smarts 3 could be accessed via underground, sound like he is think it's better to use the funds that would be required for a cut back in smarts 3 on the decline
