I bought my first parcel of mandrake yesterday with a view of adding more over the coming months. I am hoping to take advantage of any market turmoil from the broader macro environment and capitalise on any June 22 tax loss selling.

This stock was actually recommended to me by a geo friend (buyer beware) who said it was worth a look a couple of months back for a minimum 12 month hold. It was actually a good solid stock recommendation at the time but with the overhang of talks of nationalisation, I steered clear of investments in small Chilean exploration juniors in the albeit unlikely event this came to fruition. Small explorers over in Chile would have been decimated if nationalisation eventuated, basically you wouldn’t have been able to sell your shares quick enough. The risk vs reward wasn’t in your favour at the time.

Fast forward to today and nationalisation of mining in Chile is a distant memory - rejected a couple of days ago. With the logical and well received dismissal now known to the marketplace, I decided to take a position here as in my opinion the downside is now limited. The risk vs reward scenario is back in your favour. The level of cash on hand and the market cap at the moment is very attractive. Nothing more reassuring to potential external investors is a well funded exploration company as they can have multiple attempts at finding something substantial without the potential looming credit raise.

Not to mention, they are exploring for one of my favourite commodities, copper, which many including me like to refer to it as the economic barometer/indicator. it’s widespread use in various applications now and into the future makes it a logical long term choice as a hedge and a solid investment.
