The 3T bulk sample is not meaningless. The same approach could (and has) been applied in ultra high nugget and complex narrow vein orebodies where drill holes do a very poor job of representing the gold. Generally this is a last resort option.
Obviously BBX does not have coarse gold.
However, the sample is large enough to allow a pilot plant process to be used (mirroring production scale process), and if successful should yield a significant amount of metal at the end. Sure it won’t be representative of the entire orebody, but it will be a vast improvement on 2kg.
As a geo, I’m currently accept this deposit is unconventional, but the upside potential fits my risk profile. I personally don’t believe there is any fraudulent activities going on (Bre-X), but I do not discount that gross sampling errors may have happened (unknowingly) with past results given the variability and lack of QAQC. I disagree with many of M26’s assumptions and extrapolations which embellish BBX’s announcements.
