Although I now no longer hold any PCL, I like to keep an eye out on the area. And now I'm now wondering whether to jump back in... As you know, now that the extension has been awarded, the next piece of the puzzle is a farmin to pay for the 3D survey. The 3D will need to be acquired in the current seismic window and so the deal needs to be done on the hurry-up, To acquire 3D seismic, there needs to be an environmental permit in place and this takes several months to complete. So, at this point, the only way a survey can be acquired in the current seismic window is to use a multi-client company who already have an environmental permit in place. As far as I know, Searcher is the only one with a permit in place over PEL87. There may be others in the works, but this kind of stuff needs to be published for public comment and I am unaware of any others with current permits. So at this point, I think it is limited to Searcher. Clearly they will have the upper hand in negotiations here. In any case, below is the area (hashed) applied for in the by Searcher in their environmental permit application, and which I understand has been granted (note - they are not acquiring the whole area, this is just the permitted area). PEL87 is Block 2713 for those unaware. Link to the application is at the bottom. Apologies to those who are already aware of all this.
