Time not money … time IS money.
BRN management and experts are boasting that they have a neuromorphic architecture that is
‘way out in front’ of all other neuromorphic architectures. They are saying that SNAP learns autonomously on-chip (i.e., independently of the cloud - ‘
at the node’) and
will have applications in everything from robotics to smartphones, servers to automobiles, drones to washing machines. These are huge claims made in a way that exudes confidence in the architecture, although the experts didn’t sound too convinced, imo.
Oculus
received $91 million in venture capital.
As for TensorFlow :
TensorFlow was originally developed by researchers and engineers working on the Google Brain Team within Google's Machine Intelligence research organization for the purposes of conducting machine learning and deep neural networks research, but the system is general enough to be applicable in a wide variety of other domains as well.
Unlike SNAP, these are not general-purpose architectures; they’re designed for specific purposes. And if we believe the BRN marketing and expert endorsements, SNAP would or should be highly valuable in these specific product areas.
If SNAP is what it claims to be, which is a general-purpose True AI architecture, don’t you think a company like Intel (general-purpose chip design and manufacturer) would want to nurture (or ‘incubate’ as they say at DARPA) such a ‘revolutionary’ product/patent based on its potential alone? Don’t you think Intel’s management and engineers would have looked at the patent, witnessed the milestones, and thought ‘we better grab this ‘revolutionary’ architecture before our direct or indirect competitors get hold of it?’
I think IF Intel have eyeballed SNAP they’ve erred on the side of caution and THAT imo is why BRN are down here on the ASX asking the public to fund them … because no one else will. And BRN management are deflecting that line of inquiry with the ‘VCs will ruin the company’ rationale – something that may be true for most garage-style startups run by twenty-somethings with a new social media app, perhaps, but not a bunch of seasoned business professionals with a ‘revolutionary’ new general-purpose technology.
Judging by the failed CR and current SP, I think the market is starting to see through the BRN hype. If they don’t get a CREDIBLE license deal soon, this company will be in big trouble imo. No one will trust them.
