I’m sure many of you fellow holders remember the article found in the Townsville daily bulletin in 6th June 1912
the Trafalgar lease was sold by George Hoy & william Braun to the Mount Elliot company - run by Mr Colbould known as the ‘Copper King’.

Hoy and Brawn then look up a lease adjacent to Trafalgar and started mining the ‘Havoc’ prospect. Ive located this just south of Trafalgar but these doesn’t seem to be much mention of it. Producing 10% copper

he was kept fairly busy Inspecting pro

perties out at the Springs, on the Cor

ella. West Lelchhardt, and Cameron

Groups. Some time ago he purchased

the Trafalgar and the Spring*, and Im

meaiatrly took up three other leases

adjoining, making a line of lode a mile along

the line of lode worth operating. Then

again, this lode can be traced for fully

five miles, so the Copper King knew

what he was about In purchasing the

Trafalgar, which is looking farllcnlarlr

bright at the present time.

HAVOC MINE

We have been informed the shaft

Has continued down to the water

level, and shows Ift. of rl^au

sulphides, assaying across the width

of the shaft 10 per cent copper, The

open cut at the South end of the lease

turning out rich ore.
