No.' 1 South Friend.— Mr Harvey,

part owner of the above claim wltii

Messrs Brodle and Baker situated at

the Springs, Corella, Informs us that

Hip mine Is looKlhg well. A shaft has

been sunk 20ft. on the lode, and in the

bottom there Is. about 2ft. of gossan

and tile ore, -which should average 30

per cent. The last ore returns fro.m

here went 2S per cent, and Mr Harvey

considers the lode has Improved witli

Klnklns. five tons were sent away,

land at present thero are about 3 tons

on the surface, all being rained whilst

sinking.

Spring Central.— In this leaso a shaft

has been, opened up, and proved a lode

about 3fL with a foot of ore. At thu

bottom of the shaft which Is 10ft. detp.

The ore in this shaft assays US per

cept; There arc about 30ewt. at grans

here.

North Springs.— A ' shaft has been

sunk 70ft. on this lease and have Just

Btruck a body of RUbsulphlde ore. Two

diilves have been put in. In the north

drive the lode Is about 2ft. thick of 30

per cent ore, whilst the formation Is

carrying splashes ol ore for about 15f U,

In the south drive there Is a foot of ov-?

cf a sulphide nature which It Is

thought wttil go about 2-1 per cent.

There Is about 3 tons of 33 per cent ore

at grass. Mr Harvey' informs us that

the country Is very dry and greatly

retards mining operations.
