Lol if ASM management think the presumably low uptake of the offer by retail has anything to do with the amount of time it remains open. Personally, I'm glad shareholders are sending a message to management that they have burned the sort of trust and goodwill towards the company that would compel someone to pay above the current share price in order to ensure the money goes into the company's pocket.
Best case scenario is the offer has been extended because they know a significant announcement will come out later this week, or next week, that is likely to raise the SP above the offer price. I think this is highly unlikely, but it's possible.
