Don't get me wrong, I am bullish on VRFBs but I don't think the vanadium will come from the west. The cost of production and cost to market is far too great as a raw material to compete with other sources which someone pointed out is a by-product of of steel slag.
VFRBs will come from China in my opinion, they will own the supply chain to manufacture and do it cheaper than anyone else. Just look at the EVs they're pumping out.
Burton was working on a uniquie benefection process at TNG to get around the cost of production issue, he's obviously since left but even they have shelved that project as being too capital intensive in favour of a quicker path to FCF.
He's looking to do the same at SRN but only because he thinks he can keep milking the shareholder for that little bit longer. This is what he did at his last gig too.
