Besides Myanmar possibly coming into production in the short term, the pendulum for tin pricing could swing with the current DRC Congo/M23-Rwanda issues. This is a very bad crisis within the region with many added complexities, hatred & opposing associations between various nations (including back room type alliances??). The last conflict during the 90's killed in excess of a million ++ making it the biggest death toll since World War2. Alphamin shareholders would be concerned as M23 have been seizing assets & taking financial control (trying to strangle the current DRC government). Whether they seize the Bisie mine is a question?? They are currently getting very close with a following report:
"Security sources have told Al Jazeera that the Rwanda-backed rebels had entered Nyabwindo village, about 100km (62 miles) north of Goma and located on the road leading to the strategic town of Walikale in North Kivu. Walikale is very important for the government as it is the only place where the government has the industrial mine from which they are getting millions of tax payments,” said Al Jazeera’s Alain Uaykani, reporting from Goma.

The mainly unsealed road between the Bisie mine & Walikale is about 86km's away. The DRC government owns approximately 5% of Alphamin plus the associated benefits. The South African government owns approximately 11%. I would be concerned if I were a Alphamin shareholder.

Also worth a listen is the You Tube outline on history/issues with the DRC - Rwanda conflict as listed by a Money of Mine newsletter from last week (6/3) - "How Rwanda is Conquering Their 100x Larger Neighbor". There is also a 2010 documentary 'Blood in the Mobile" which also highlights the earlier days in Bisie tin mining. The ITA also released a statement on the 6/3 as well highlighting the growing concerns in the region.

I would like to add that I totally despise war & hope someway there is a positive resolution in the building humanitarian crisis.I was not fully aware until I watched that report & it left me a bit gob smacked. It appears to be one of those issues which will take many years of concerted effort to repair (if it can be??). I would like to further add that, I would rather have peace than an increased tin price due to human misery & death but it appears current world conflicts have been trending in a negative manner for some years.
