The Company appears to have dodged quite the bullet with the lack of support shareholders gave to the various raises in pursuit of the purchase of this ill fated Canadian mine. With President Trump signalling that Canadian products will be slapped with a 25% tariff from Feb 1 I'd assume that would include any nickel sourced from the country. No word on whether Australian products would face tariffs yet but Canada isn't looking like a suitable source of nickel at all. Perhaps Canada Nickel no longer has a stranglehold on the North American market either and anyone looking to sell EV's or batteries into the US might need to go a different route. America desperately needs rare earths and are invested in the nascent Vietnamese industry so perhaps Vietnam might be more suitable also for the American EV/battery market under President Trump that it was under Biden and his particular tariffs. But we might need Australian nickel, not Canadian. Shame all our eggs were placed in the basket of purchasing this ill fated Canadian nickel mine and the MD kept trying to force it through even in the clear absence of support from shareholders when attempting to raise further capital from us on multiple occasions. It goes down to judgement and contingency planning. Neither of which BSX has displayed to a level that brings confidence.
