I have a long standing admiration for what JK has achieved with EVN in a comparatively short time. Having said that, I often think that the company is a little too concerned to be seen as being responsive to social issues, like ESG guff, rather than to be seen as a hard nosed commercial operator.
EVN has had more than enough time to turn Red Lake around. If there is no reasonable prospect of getting Red Lake on track in the foreseeable future, they need to have the guts to acknowledge their mistake and get rid of it. It would be better to take the hit, learn the relevant lessons, and move on. The share price would probably improve significantly in the process.
