Why would another CATH extension kill 'the chinese theory', by which i assume you mean the ongoing campaign by Zijin and its suborned DRC faciltators to seize this project?
CATH will no doubt hang around as long as there's a chance that AVZ prevail, as they want our output and the deal they've been offered is a sweet one for their long-term interests. Why wouldn't they be extending? It costs them nothing to potentially secure the deal of a lifetime if things go our way.
In any case I'm not sure what you're getting at here. If CATH knew about this upcoming case or not, what's the difference? Chinese companies compete, even state owned ones. And the Government could also see CATH' continued relationship with us as a hedge - with a Chinese company locking up strategically important offtakes from Manono whether Zijin or AVZ
