"Barrick is not interested in buying small mines on the cheap. They want exposure. Exploration. 1m ozs + deposits. The joint venture."
Humm the JV Barrick have with TRY covers a large area that TRY have only scratched the surface but its only about half of the tenements TRY has. Surely Barrick would be interested in the rest of try's tenements as well, I don't see why they wouldn't.
As I have written before, Barrick are obviously interested in exploring the area. They can start from scratch as they have done in securing the JV to explore, now they have to bring in plant and equipment, establish an exploration camp ect and it would take some years to prove up a resource.
If Barrick where to take over try they would have not only double the land holding to explore but a established and complete mine and infrastructure including trained employees, effectively they would be hitting the ground running saving a lot of time and money in establishing a presence in the area
