Optane is crap. It is only marginally faster than Flash and yet is reported to produce over US$1bn in annual revenue.

4DS looks like it will be, what, 1,000 times faster than Optane? Also, much cheaper to produce and it can be stacked. It will be profoundly better, both technically and economically.

Faster than DRAM is MASSIVE!!! It may not make DRAM redundant, but there will be plenty of applications where it could replace it. The only time it wouldn't, would be due to endurance. (What is that endurance figure for 4DS by the way? )

The market generates more than US$150bn in annual revenue and 4DS is (hopefully) on the verge of eating into that pie by the fistful. The combined market cap of global semiconductor companies is in the trillions. A company looking to buy 4DS will look at how much revenue/profit they think they can make and then pay a multiple of that figure. Or they may buy it to prevent a competitor from making that revenue.

But eff me, surely the 4DS tech will dwarf that revenue figure of Optane in a very short period of time.
