    My view and experience is that in this industry these kind of employment contract conditions are not enforceable in practice. Anecdotally a lot of people who leave roles in the semiconductor or software industry will go and work at a direct competitor. What happens is that when you tell HR they put you on gardening leave and they take your phone and laptop back. However most people will know this is coming and have already backed up what they need.
