I disagree with you. Suspension is very important for the reasons I've outlined above.
It is unfortunate you are stuck and can't sell your shares, but in the case of AVZ who is engaged in a commercial arbitration process which are traditionally lengthy affairs, they have to stay suspended for the sake of the company and the shareholders right.
Imagine if they weren't suspended right now, but they couldn't give any news to the market because of ongoing legal proceedings which could very well drag on for the next couple of months. The share price may very well be 10c right
Long suspensions are just part of the risk of buying these kinds of shares, and as a shareholder you wear that risk. If you want to invest in companies which have guaranteed liquidity infinitum you need to stick to ANZ, CBA, BHP etc
