The ASX have to sign off on the suspension not AVZ. The main concern for the ASX in this instance would be the amount of insider information floating about. The arbitration would involve multiple law firms and consultants across multiple countries. All these people have friends and family.
How would you feel if the SP steadily sold off for months even though as far as you new the stock was still good to go should be $2 a share. The progress of arbitration is confidential but it seems like a lot of people know how its going. Then bang announcement. The whole thing has gone tits up it crashes more.
They will come out of suspension when all market participants can have equal access to information. That could be a good result or a bad result of the arbitration.
