Sorry Ozblue, but I cannot see why you are so concerned about the number of shares on issue.

As you say, a consolidation would fix that easily.

The problem with a company which has a very uncertain future is that if a consolidation was done now in two years the sp would be back where it is now and we would beno better off. The low price has an effect of supporting the price as it generally will not move down as much. Very few consolidations work.
