Based on the legal advice though, it seems each of the proposed JVs in Mainland China (Beimei vape deal, seed bank, etc) are all potentially caught up in the new prohibitions. SCU will need to seek regulatory approval to proceed with each of them (and possibly may not be granted, depending how they structure those arrangements)

Keep in mind, this legal advice was received by the Company 5 weeks ago (Probably the request for legal advice was requested, but not yet received, even prior to the AGM). So why are they releasing it now? Are they clearing the deck in advance on a resumption of trading tomorrow? Who knows!

In any case, these regulatory approvals seem likely to delay (at best) the commencement of the proposed JVs. And (in my mind) will make sophs more wary about investing in the Company. Let's hope Rosen & Co can pull a rabbit out of their hat.
