the ownership dispute has us all locked in, your point is when we come out, shorters will stay with their short whilst the ownership dispute is closed. You challenged me to explain that and I have, albiet my post got reported - by who i wonder..
The simple point of the matter is, AVZ is 2.7b righy now and will produce 10% of the global lithium market if all things go to plan. It is competing in the realms of SQM and ALb who are over 30b Aud.
The short positions are to capitalise on uncertainty not a misaligned valuation. That uncertainty is gone when we resume trading - why would these instotitutionals not close their shorts? they will almost certainly rush to lock in their gains leaving the other plays holding short position without buyers.
As i said before, it will be a rush to exit and the question to all shorters here is - will you be the first or the last to exit your short posiition? Takes a brave soul to risk unlimited liability when there is so much news/event risk at play...
