I think the DRC have to tread carefully which they are doing. AVZ are a small exploration company whereas, Chinese interests own 15 of the 17 cobalt operations in the DRC. The five biggest Chinese mining companies with cobalt and copper interests in the country can draw on lines of credit with Chinese state banks totaling an extraordinary US$124 billion [reference Google 6 Dec 2021]

The DRC have to consider their own interest, AVZ and Chinese [wrongly or rightly]

It is not an easy situation. People say, It is time the DRC step up and oust and call out Chinese infrastructure for minerals investment dodgy dealings. However, when you have one country investing so much, it's no easy feat.

Rock and a hard place.

Just goes to show, everyone does want a piece of this massive deposit.
