The gravity high in the northern parts is probably due to the titaniferous magnetite horizon which can be seen outcropping at the adjoining Boomer Hill area. It was the discovery of this vanadium bearing titaniferous magnetite by Tony Tomich during the 1960’s that confirmed the extent of the Coates Layered Intrusion (they call it Gonneville today) Coates Mining Centre is located south of Julimar near Wundowie and was the first vanadium mine in Australia, operating for a brief period during the 1980’s. CHN will definitely intersect vanadium mineralisation when they drill in the northern parts around Boomer Hill.
