China can't feed its' own people from domestic production and I am not even talking about its' dependency on imported oil and coal.
It has spent as much money in the last 30 years what other countries spend in 200 years when comparing it to the size of its' economy.
China's reliance on exports is also second to none.
The peak of labour force productivity has passed due to a rapidly aging population.
Don't think China can do much more then posturing.
I think everyone would be better advised to work together.
Germanium and Gallium will be sourced somewhere else over time. The only thing the Chinese government accomplishes with threats is an acceleration of the re-allocation of global supply chains avoiding China dependencies.
In summary: Nothing to see here.
