As another 'HC' poster opined, it's been surprising to see the run up in BGA's share price as one would have thought much would not occur until there was concrete evidence BGA was achieving the c.$41 million IIRC in synergies that it comprehensively discussed when it raised the capital to take over Lion Dairy and Drinks.
However a positive side issue is that BGA received substantial free publicity from various media (including the widely read and viewed 'Herald Sun' in Melbourne) about how it took over LD&D instead of that mainland Chinese dairy Mengniu being the successful bidder. The freebie articles identified products with photos, a huge plus in slowly raising consumer awareness.
I'd still love to see the 'Bega' name prominently on all the newly acquired products like Farmer's Union and Yoplait. That may come in time if the marketing staff perceive it as a good idea.
