EDV like other retailers/pubs tend to pass on costs to the consumer, hence inflation protected earnings and also defensive. Whilst consumers would lower spending due to higher rates and inflation in goods and services, alcohol generally doesn’t lower. Which probably explains the recent spiking of the share price. WOW and COL also moved up, albeit smaller.
Great stock and business, and pinnacle also makes it unique. We bought a significant amount around the low $6s in this plus the demerger shares from WOW. Been a very very good investment, especially compared to the broader ASX performance or global markets.
