The subliminal message from the presentation may have been that cuts to rostered numbers of staff are to be implemented, but the CEO did caution in implying hotel patrons will go 'down the road' to a rival venue if dissatisfied.

It's not clear how EDV minimises the 5.75 per cent effect of higher wage costs at BWS outlets that might only be staffed by one employee for much of the time if (say) co-located with a WOW supermarket. (No doubt arrangements for lunch time are made).

While I couldn't care less about sport, hopefully tonight's women's soccer match results in a spike in one-day liquor sales at Dan's and BWS with visits to EDV hotels for meals and especially draught beer and wine increasing. Many love to enjoy a drink while watching sport.
