I would like input from experienced operatives in this exercise -but that might be a big call as no junior I know globally has yet mined and beneficiated low grade lithium ore and processed through a simple DMS plant. There are maybe fifty companies out there who are reporting the ability to upgrade coarse pegmatites around 1 % and higher to a 6% concentrate with simple DMS et al crushing -screening from small sizes up to +6 mm and larger - and separation in cyclones with a water -ferro silicone media (HLS) as CXO do in their large plant in the NT.
I have done my calculations 481,000 tonnes beneficiated to a 5.5% concentrate at 60% recovery as referred to in their reports (not normal DSO grade of about 1.4%) and based on 6% cons prices adjusted for 5.5% the revenue is off the planet -if I have my figures right.
If the numbers I come up with are correct - I would be fast tracking an open pit too.
Small modular plants 10-15 tph are not expensive - see below. So no high capex plant costs - any tails carrying lithium that needs flotation can put aside for another day.
Many questions - I am on a big learning curve too as huge potential right across the industry if lower grades of coarse spodumene amenable to simple DMS can be recovered without having to install a high capex SC6 plant.
