Amigos, I'm not sure whether eveyone is aware of the details of the conditions that explorers operate under in NSW. In particular, all Exploration Titles have work programs which the explorers provide each year. If a work program (which is submitted in the annual report) demonstrates enough exploration activity and expenditure, then they are likely to be accepted, and exploration can continue for another year. However, if the work program is not up to scratch, then it is rejected by the Department and it needs to be beefed up. Also, when Exploration Licences are up for renewal (usually every 3 years, but up to 6 years), the Department says the licence holder "must reliquish 50% of the area" unless reason can be shown for exceptional circumstances. As a result of these requirements, GRL and all explorers in NSW need to be active at all of their Exploraion Licences in each and every year (unitl they have a JORC and are preparing to mine). Now I don't know much about GRL's recent farm-in agreeement, however it has the effect of getting GRL off the hook with regards exploration activity and expenditure. It means GRL can get on with exploring its priority projects, and leave the partner to do the heavy lifing in the other areas. Maybe that could be a motive beind the farm-in agreement?
