I'm a deep value investor, and I've thrashed the market more or less consistently for two decades now. I also sold all of my Australian property in 2006 because I thought that the property market was overheating. Although that certainly wasn't my greatest call, I've still done very very well without ever buying a high multiple tech stock, or a derivative, or a cryptocurrency. Just simple value investing.

It can be done. It just requires patience and detachment, which ironically are two traits that Steve has in spades, and that fact exacerbates the travesty that has been Forager's track record over the past seven years.

That is why I make such scathing comments about the team at Forager, because I know for a fact that they would fare far better if they just stuck to businesslike investing with a fat margin of safety.
