The office juniors win a case that is appealed, & the partners give each other a knowing wink & wheel out old big shot Flambeau. Day of the appeal rolls around, Flambeau asks to approach the bench knowing he can shut this thing down real quick, let’s the judge know “we beat these guys first time around”, gavel slams down, appeal dismissed. Brilliant. What a CUNNING STUNT.

Hey Flambeau, I think you’re onto something - why do we even bother having Appeals Courts if the appellants lost the first time around?

Could extend to sport - we beat you in the early rounds, next time we play you we’ll save our legs & claim a forfeit!
