Patents are incredibly complicated and are only applicable in the country you have applied I.E You can't use your approved Aus patents in the US.
Given the nature of the technology, it's not surprising that they have a huge amount of pending applications, likely in various markets across the globe. It's also why they keep things so close to the chest. You are restricted to the nation/s where the parents are approved otherwise there is no framework to prevent an entity from reverse engineering the HX.
