India has a GDP per capita 1/27th of Australia. Approximately that means how you think about $27, they think about $1. For you to contemplate a $25k brick/laying cost in your house, to them it's the equivalent of $675k.

This idea that you can take incredibly expensive machinery, invented in part due to incredibly high labour costs, to highly populated poor countries with very low costs of labour and expect it to compete AND make you a profit at the same time is just absurd.

I've been to underground tanzanite mines in Tanzania. They have a diesel engine to assist in moving things the 1-2km between the surface and the main level. The miners climb up and down, it's an hour each way. Why? Because the $1-2 it would take in diesel to run the machine to move the groups of miners isn't worth it.

Hadrian needs to operate in high GDP countries to succeed.
