2. TLX product is based on the same technology, but there's a few notable differences:

Locametz is single vial - pharmacy needs to qualify and supply their own vials for extracting radiation from generator and their own buffer. Novartis' must also be produced at a higher temperature - so TLX is a product that will be easier to use and this will be important to pharmacies.

Locametz is not approved for cyclotron product. TLX can be produced both by generator or cyclotron - this gives TLX an advantage over lantheus in the pharmacy distribution space, and gives a strong advantage over both in the large hospitals that have their own cyclotrons and whose preference is to produce in-house

Locametz does have the patient selection in its label, and now TLX does also. This locks Lantheus out of use for patient selection.
