A great series of announcements today from GSS and compliments to the vision and perseverance of GSS management and staff.

It took a long time to persuade the FDA to grant GI product approval, and the degree of time raised questions in the market about whether GSS would ever gain approval. But, everyone involved showed tenacity and conviction in achieving this result. As a consequence GSS has in fact become a small Australian-based global medical devices company with a presence in all the major markets. It can monetise its existing new product in the US and fund new product development and R&D for growth beyond this. In short: a nice little business and a very impressive achievement.

The appointment of Allison Rossiter as the new CEO looks like a very strong appointment and the timing is perfect. One cannot help but note the obvious possibilities in the statement provided by GSS: "Ms Rossiter ... has held several senior executive roles with [the] largest diagnostics company in the world by revenue, Roche Diagnostics."

All in all, a very good day for GSS and its shareholders.
